Government Responds to Passport Glitch Affecting eCitizen Users | BossNana International Radio

The Ministry of Interior and National Administration has assured the public that passport applications will continue to be processed despite the temporary unavailability of A and B Series passport booklets on the eCitizen portal.

In a statement, the Ministry acknowledged the challenges faced by applicants who were unable to complete online submissions due to the missing booklet options. Officials said they had already implemented measures to prevent delays and ensure that passport services continue without interruption.

“The disruption will not affect the overall issuance of passports,” the Ministry said.

“Systems are in place to manage applications while efforts to restore full portal functionality are ongoing. Applicants should expect no additional inconvenience.”

The clarification comes after growing public concern, particularly among travelers with upcoming trips. Many applicants reported difficulties navigating the eCitizen platform, raising questions about whether passport processing had been suspended.

The Ministry confirmed that work is underway to restore access to all passport series. However, it did not provide a specific timeline for when the A and B Series booklets would be reinstated, leaving some applicants unsure about the length of the disruption.

Officials urged applicants to continue submitting applications through the portal, reassuring the public that the passport issuance process remains active and uninterrupted despite the temporary limitation.
