Pastor Burale Wins Court Order Blocking Alex Mwakideu’s Viral Video | BossNana International Radio

Popular radio personality Alex Mwakideu and his sister Rozina Mwakideu have been barred from publishing the impugned video interview in which Rozina expressed her regret for marrying Pastor Robert Burale.

Chief Magistrate Thomas Nzioki, sitting at the Milimani Commerial Courts in Nairobi, ruled that the siblings should cease and desist from further publishing the video or anything in relation to the viral interview on any social media platform until a petition filed by Pastor Burale is heard and determined.

“An order for interim injunction is granted to stay the defendants (Alex Mwakideu and Rozina Mwakideu) from any further publication of the complained video in any other social media platform pending hearing and pending hearing and determination of the application,” Magistrate Thomas Nzioki ruled Tuesday, October 28.

At the same time, the Magistrate declined to grant an order where Burale sought to have Mwakideu pull down and delete each video containig parts of the content. Magistrate Nzioki explained that his order only seeks to block further publication but not deletion of the video or any other publications already done.

Lawyer Ochiel Dudley, representing the Mwakideus, confirmed to the court that he would inform the defendants of the court’s directive.

“Your Honour, as an officer of the court, I will inform my client not to publish anything in order to comply with your order,” Ochiel Dudley said.

Pastor Burale has since sued Alex Mwakideu and ex-wife Rozinah over the YouTube interview posted on Mwakideu’s YouTube channel, alleging defamation.

Through a certificate of urgency filed on October 8, 2025, Burale sought a court order restraining Alex from publishing or making any statements against him pending the hearing and determination of his application.

“That pending the hearing and determination of this application, an order of injunction be issued compelling the respondent (Alex Mwakideu), either by himself or his agents, to forthwith pull down and delete each post containing parts/intoto of the contents in the video https://.com/watch?v=UnVWMJWcj0u and of its related content,” Burale further states in his application.

The celebrated preacher is also seeking a court order prohibiting social media users from sharing or posting the contents of the video.

In his Ksh20 million defamation lawsuit, Burale wants the court to order the Mwakideus to offer a public apology to him that will be covered widely by media, including Alex Mwakideu’s YouTube channel. He also wants the defendants to publicly withdraw and acknowledge the falsehood of the defamatory verbatim in the video and make an appeal to the public to cease sharing and any engagement of whatsoever nature with the referred content and any defamatory statement against him

“That pending the hearing and determination of this application and suit, an order of mandatory injunction be and is hereby legally granted compelling the respondents (Alex and Rozina) to offer an unqualified formal public apology with extensive media coverage inclusive of and not limited to the “Alex Mwakideu” YouTube channel,” part of Burale’s application read.

The court set the mention date of the case for February 25, 2026, to confirm the filing of submissions.
