Siaya Senator James Orengo should be appointed Chairman of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), rapper Octopizzo has opined.
Taking to X on October 20, 2025, the rapper-cum-activist and political commentator said Orengo, one of Raila’s longest-serving friend is best positioned to carry forward the vision of the later former Prime Minister. Octopizzo cited Orengo’s leadership style and understanding of structural and institutional reforms.
“James Orengo should be appointed as the Chairman of the ODM Party if the movement is to preserve its legacy and vitality. His leadership style and deep understanding of structural and institutional reforms make him the most capable of advancing Raila Odinga’s vision within the party,” Octo tweeted.
According to Octopizzo, Orengo is above county governance and has the national appeal and infuence to fill Raila’s shoes.
“Governance at the county level doesn’t fully harness his political intellect and national influence ,his strength lies in shaping policy, strategy, and reform at the party’s core… Making him the party leader should be a no brainer,” he added.
Octopizzo at the same time hailed Orengo for his hardhitting eulogy at Raila’s State funeral.
