The Mavoko Law Courts ordered the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to conclude its investigation within seven days regarding a vehicle theft allegation against advocate Angela Mulwa and her co-accused, Nelson Masiga.
The court granted the prosecution a final seven-day extension to finish investigating the alleged theft of a Range Rover from a disputed 21-acre land parcel in Mlolongo. The vehicle and property belonged to Dr. Victoria Mutiso, who was fatally shot on July 29, 2026. If the DPP does not officially bring charges against Mulwa and Masiga within this timeframe, the court ruled that the two suspects will be unconditionally discharged.
Separately, Masiga wrote to the DPP asking to testify as a state witness. Pending a response, he remains held at the Mavoko Police Station while finalizing his bond processing, with the court scheduling a return date of September 2 for further directions.
Although Mulwa had previously secured release on a Ksh 1 million bail, DCI homicide detectives re-arrested her on Thursday evening. The DPP subsequently approved formal murder charges against Mulwa, her mother (Rose Mbithe Mulwa), and her brother (Chris Mulwa) in connection with Dr. Mutiso’s death. The three suspects will appear before the High Court at Milimani Law Courts on Thursday to take their plea, shifting the case into a formal murder trial.
