Saboti MP Cameb Amisi updated the public on an impeachment motion against President William Ruto. He said he will file the motion if he reaches 24,000 likes on his tweet.
In a statement he shared on X, Amisi confirmed that he has started drafting the impeachment document and promised to brief Kenyans once it is ready. He also urged Kenyans to share any evidence they hold that could help demonstrate that Ruto does not qualify to lead the country.
Amisi added that the motion must include all relevant information and supporting documents, warning that the effort would fail if it lacks the required substance.
“It is being drafted. We must make it water-tight! Send any material evidence and necessary public documents to caleb.amisimp@gmail.com. When ready, I will address a press conference and give directions,” he stated.
The MP said Kenyans do not need to march in the streets to push for the removal of the Head of State from office. He argued that no one should lose their life, even as he noted that the Constitution provides other ways to pursue what parliament must handle, without confrontations or putting young people at the mercy of law enforcement officers.
“We should never send our youths to die in the streets again, pursuing what parliament is constitutionally mandated to do. These shenanigans must end with our generation. Kenya needs a renaissance!” he stated.
Amisi also assured Kenyans that he will not retreat from filing the impeachment motion. He said he has worked on the ground long enough to understand why the country needs change.
