The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service has reopened applications for medical training courses at the Kenya Medical Training College, offering aspiring healthcare professionals another opportunity to secure admission for the 2026 intake.
In a notice issued on Sunday, March 29, the placement agency announced a revision window covering 21 specific KMTC courses, giving applicants who missed out during the earlier placement phase a fresh chance to apply.
The move forms part of ongoing efforts to widen access to medical training programs across Kenya, particularly for students who were unable to secure slots during the initial application period.
Second Chance for Medical Course Applicants
The reopening specifically targets applicants who did not complete or secure placements during the earlier round of applications.
This development follows a similar initiative launched on March 3, when KUCCPS opened 31 KMTC programs to students who earned C and D grades in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
That application window closed on March 13 after the January placement cycle concluded.
With the latest revision window, the placement body has expanded eligibility even further. KUCCPS now allows Form Four leavers from 2000 to 2025 to apply, creating opportunities for both recent school graduates and candidates who completed secondary school years ago.
The agency urged interested applicants to submit their course selections through the KUCCPS student portal before April 3, 2026.
