Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene Prices Drop in EPRA’s Latest Review | BossNana International Radio

Kenyan motorists and households will enjoy slight relief at the pump after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced a reduction in fuel prices in its latest monthly review.

EPRA said it has lowered the price of super petrol by Ksh2 per litre, while diesel and kerosene have each dropped by Ksh1 per litre, offering modest savings to consumers across the country.

In Nairobi, a litre of super petrol now sells at Ksh182.52, diesel at Ksh170.47, and kerosene at Ksh153.78.

Motorists and households in Mombasa will pay Ksh180.24 for super petrol, Ksh167.19 for diesel, and Ksh150.49 for kerosene.

EPRA explained that the new pump prices factor in all applicable taxes and statutory charges.

“The prices are inclusive of the 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020,” EPRA noted in a statement.

Falling Global Fuel Costs Drive Price Cuts

EPRA attributed the price reduction to a decline in the cost of imported petroleum products in the international market.

The regulator said the average landed cost of imported super petrol fell slightly by 0.10 per cent, from US$592.84 (Ksh76,446.72) per cubic metre in November 2025 to US$592.24 (Ksh76,369.35) per cubic metre in December 2025.

The drop proved more significant for other fuels. The average landed cost of diesel declined by 4.20 per cent, from US$654.24 (Ksh84,364.25) per cubic metre to US$626.75 (Ksh80,819.41) per cubic metre over the same period.

Meanwhile, kerosene recorded the sharpest fall, with its landed cost plunging by 8.92 per cent, from US$667.05 (Ksh86,016.10) per cubic metre to US$607.55 (Ksh78,343.57) per cubic metre.

How Long Will the New Fuel Prices Last?

EPRA confirmed that the revised fuel prices will remain in force until the next scheduled review.

The authority said the current prices will apply until February 14, 2026, when it will conduct its next monthly fuel price assessment.
