29 Courier Companies Face Shutdown After CA Issues Seven-Day Notice | BossNana International Radio

The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has announced that it will suspend the operating licences of 29 courier service providers across the country within the next seven days.

In a gazette notice dated January 23, the regulator said all the affected firms operate national courier services and maintain a presence in major towns and cities, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Naivasha, Narok, Eldoret, Nyeri, Kitale, Machakos, Wote, and Karatina.

Among the courier companies facing licence suspension are 2 NK, NNK Shuttle Parcel Services, Safari Luxury Shuttle Limited, Prestige Courier Services Limited, and Narok Star Shuttle Sacco Services.

Others listed in the notice include Hapa Courier Limited, Mividama Enterprises Limited, Salvet Parcel Services Limited, Global Link Courier and Parcels Limited, and Outrival Courier Services Limited.

The authority warned that the revocation process will take effect seven days from the date of publication, after which the firms will be required to cease operations.

“As indicated above, revocation will take effect seven (7) days from the date of this publication and any resources held under these licences shall revert to the Authority upon revocation,” the notice read.

The CA further stated that once the licences are revoked, the affected operators will no longer have legal authority to offer courier services.

“Upon revocation of the licences, the licensees shall not be authorized to operate and provide the services as indicated in the table above,” it added.

Courier service providers play a critical role in the transportation and delivery of parcels, documents, and goods within Kenya and across international borders.

The Communications Authority can revoke or suspend courier licences for several reasons, including failure to comply with regulatory obligations and maintain acceptable service standards. Other common grounds include non-payment of licence renewal fees, failure to meet prescribed service quality benchmarks, and breaches related to customer privacy and data protection.
