“Show Him the Door Immediately” – Gachagua Allies Call on Ruto to Sack Cabinet Secretary | BossNana International Radio

Gachagua-aligned politicians accuse Public Service Cabinet Secretary of fueling dangerous divisions between Mt Kenya East and West communities

A coalition of Mt Kenya leaders allied with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has launched a campaign demanding the immediate resignation of Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku over allegations of repeated hate speech.

The politicians, predominantly from Embu County, have called on President William Ruto to fire Ruku immediately, accusing the Cabinet Secretary of making inflammatory remarks that threaten to ignite dangerous divisions within the Mt Kenya region.

“Show Him the Door Immediately,” Leaders Tell Ruto

Speaking to the press on Tuesday, December 23, the politicians argued that Ruku’s alleged derogatory comments risk creating serious rifts between Mt Kenya East and West – communities that have historically coexisted peacefully without tribal animosity.

The leaders further claimed that Ruku’s remarks directly undermine President Ruto’s stated commitment to promoting national unity, insisting that the Cabinet Secretary has developed a troubling pattern of making insensitive statements targeting the region.

“If the president means well about the unity of this country, he should take action against CS Ruku by showing him the door immediately,” one politician declared.

Focus on Healthcare, Not Politics, Leaders Demand

Another leader added a stinging critique of Ruku’s priorities: “He should immediately stop dividing the Mt Kenya region and participating in unnecessary politics. He was placed there to work for the people because there is a crisis in our hospital.”

During the press conference, the politicians launched a scathing attack on the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), accusing the national unity watchdog of double standards for failing to take action against Ruku despite his alleged inflammatory statements.

The criticism exposes what many perceive as selective enforcement by NCIC, which has aggressively prosecuted some politicians for hate speech while seemingly ignoring allegations against government officials.

Ruku’s Explosive Attack on Gachagua Sparked the Crisis

The call for Ruku’s dismissal erupted just one day after the Cabinet Secretary launched a sharp attack on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of stoking unnecessary tension in the Mt Kenya region.

Speaking on Monday, December 22, at a goat auction in Baringo, Ruku chastised Gachagua for repeatedly attempting to provoke hostility against the government and its allies, remarks that ignited the firestorm now threatening his Cabinet position.

The Cabinet Secretary also dismissed claims that Gachagua dominates Mt Kenya politics, citing the recent Mbeere North by-elections as decisive evidence that the former Deputy President’s influence remains far more limited than his supporters claim.

“There was drama in the Mt Kenya region; there is a politician there inciting people. He is someone who specialises in spreading systematic hatred against the government and leaders who support it,” Ruku alleged in his controversial Monday speech.

“But when he had the chance to help his person clinch a seat in Mbeere North, that guy sweated, and we defeated him. Let no one lie to you that he owns Mt Kenya. If he is the Mt Kenya kingpin, we could have seen it in the Mbeere North elections,” he added, delivering a direct challenge to Gachagua’s political standing.
