The National Youth Service (NYS) has opened 410 job opportunities for qualified graduates to work in Saudi Arabia, offering roles in logistics, warehouse operations, and fisheries retail. The announcement was made on Monday, December 15, and targets male candidates with relevant training and skills.
“Our client, a reputable company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a strong footprint across industrial operations, retail operations, and logistics services, is seeking to recruit qualified NYS graduates for the positions listed below. These opportunities are ideal for candidates looking to advance their careers in a competitive international environment,” NYS stated.
Job Opportunities and Salaries
NYS has released 150 openings for forklift operators, offering salaries of 1,450–1,800 SAR (Ksh49,800–Ksh61,830). Successful candidates will operate forklifts to move, load, and unload goods in warehouses and industrial sites.
Applicants must possess an artisan course in plant operation and a valid forklift certificate from NYS, NTSA, NITA, or another recognized institution. A good command of English is required, while prior experience and suitability test certification are advantageous.
The agency is also offering 100 picker positions with a similar salary range of 1,450–1,800 SAR (Ksh49,800–Ksh61,830). Pickers will scan, stage, and marshal goods for dispatch while observing safety and quality standards. The qualifications mirror those required for forklift operators, with English proficiency and prior experience being key advantages.
For fisheries sales associates, commonly known as fish mongers, NYS has 50 posts available with salaries between 1,600–1,800 SAR (Ksh54,976–Ksh61,848). Responsibilities include handling and preparing seafood, assisting customers, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring clean fish counters. Applicants must hold a diploma in food science, food and beverage production, or a related course, with experience in seafood handling and retail considered a plus.
Employment Terms and Benefits
Successful candidates will be offered two-year renewable contracts in Saudi Arabia. The employer will provide visas, resident permits, accommodation, transport, food allowance, medical insurance, uniforms, and training.
Employees will work eight hours a day, six days a week, and receive 30 days of annual leave, overtime, and other benefits in line with Saudi labour laws. Round-trip air tickets will be provided every two years.
How to Apply
Eligible candidates should apply online using the application form provided by NYS. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for practical tests and interviews at the National Youth Service Nairobi Holding Unit on Wednesday, December 17.
This announcement follows Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geofrey Ruku’s plan to transform NYS into a commercially active entity. Speaking on November 12, Ruku said,
“The National Youth Service (NYS) is in the process of establishing the National Youth Service Enterprises and Services Company to act as a commercial arm of the National Youth Service commercialization agenda. The approval process of the regulations and registration of the company is ongoing at the moment.”
