Simba Arati: ODM Will Stay in Broad-Based Government But Remain Independent | BossNana International Radio

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Deputy Party Leader Simba Arati has reaffirmed that the party will remain part of the broad-based government until 2027, while maintaining its independence and commitment to justice.

“We have said that we will remain in a broad-based [government] until 2027; everyone should plan themselves going forward,” Arati declared.

Speaking during a rally in Nakuru, the Kisii Governor urged ODM members and supporters to stand firm against corruption and injustice despite the party’s collaboration with the government.

“Going forward, there are people we will not laugh with. Young people, do you want us to laugh with thieves? We must protect this country with our status and wealth. We must reject corruption, even if we are in that broad-based government; justice must be done to every Kenyan,” he said.

Arati clarified that ODM’s participation in the broad-based setup does not mean it has joined the ruling Kenya Kwanza coalition. He explained that the party had only seconded professionals to serve in government roles while preserving its political autonomy.

“Nakuru, you know that we in ODM have rejected the theft of public property, because our children who are growing up will not find a country,” he added.

He further vowed that ODM will continue opposing human rights violations and the killing of innocent people, insisting that the party’s values remain unchanged.
