Murkomen Tells Citizens to Record Bribery During Upcoming Police Recruitment | BossNana International Radio

The government has warned Kenyans against engaging in bribery during the upcoming police recruitment exercise, cautioning that offenders will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

Addressing a church service at A.G.C. Kaboson in Bomet County on Sunday, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen asserted the need for transparency and accountability in the recruitment process.

“We demand transparency and accountability. Those who are carrying money when people go to run so that they can bribe, we want to tell you that we will arrest you,” Murkomen said.

He called on locals to actively participate in curbing corruption by recording anyone involved in bribery using their phones and reporting them to authorities. Murkomen wondered why citizens always recorded politicians yet failed to document illegal practices like bribery.

The CS further directed officials in charge of the recruitment to adhere strictly to the scheduled timelines, ensuring the process is completed before 5pm at all centres across the country. He stressed the need for prompt announcement of successful candidates so the results are transparent and accessible to all.

“We want you, as local Kenyan communities, to come out as observers. We want your support for those who will be bribing, to record them and bring them to us, so that we can sort out this thing of corruption,” he said.

Murkomen further assured Kenyans that the government has put in place mechanisms to ensure a free, fair, and transparent recruitment process for the applicants.

The nationwide police recruitment exercise is scheduled to take place on November 17, 2025, across all sub-counties.
