Investigators in Narok County are probing the mysterious theft of a Ministry of Health vehicle loaded with medical supplies in Kilgoris. The dramatic incident has left police searching for both the stolen car and the criminals behind the well-orchestrated heist.
According to police reports, the driver of the four-wheel-drive vehicle had parked outside a local entertainment joint in Kilgoris Town on Thursday evening to take refreshments. While inside, a stranger joined him, and the two spent time chatting. Investigators believe the man may have spiked the driver’s drink before leading him back to the vehicle.
The police say the suspect then gained the trust of the driver, who gave him a lift to his residence within the town. However, along the way, the driver lost consciousness and later woke up at Kipkebe Tea Plantation in Sotik, Bomet County, nearly 200 kilometres away.
By the time rescuers found him the next day, his hands and legs were tied; the vehicle, with all of his personal belongings, was nowhere to be seen.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment after recording a statement at the police station. Police are still pursuing leads in an effort to recover the stolen car and the medical supplies.
Teacher Loses Ksh280,000 in Bold Daylight Robbery After Bank Withdrawal
In a separate incident, police in Nandi County have begun investigations into the theft of Ksh280,000 from a teacher in Nandi Hills Town. The victim told the police that thieves broke into his parked car shortly after he withdrew Ksh174,000 from a local bank on Friday, November 7, 2025.
The teacher said he had combined the withdrawn amount with Ksh85,000 he already had to pay for a teachers’ conference scheduled in Mombasa between November 8 and 13. However, when he stopped briefly at a petrol station for shopping, he returned to find the passenger door open and the cash, a laptop, a cheque book, and a list of conference members stolen.
Police are reviewing nearby CCTV footage and suspect that individuals close to the teacher, who were aware of his transactions, may have tipped off the robbers.
