Prime Cabinet Secretary (PCS) Musalia Mudavadi has lauded the Kenyan Police Service, describing it as one of the most professional security forces in the world.
Speaking during the homecoming ceremony of Dr. Amani Komora, the Chairperson of the National Police Service Commission (NPSC), at Oda Village in Tana River County, Mudavadi commended the police for their exemplary service and global recognition. He noted that Kenyan officers have participated in at least 50 international peace missions, a reflection of their professionalism and discipline.
“Our security forces are professional, orderly and regarded globally. We must ensure that the standards are kept at any given time,” said Mudavadi.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary highlighted the example of more than 800 police officers sent to restore order while on their recently completed assignment in Haiti. He commended them for remaining professional and disciplined in the face of the turbulent environment in the Caribbean nation.
“The peace mission in Haiti has been there for 15 months and there is no single recorded case of human rights violations. This is a testament of their professionalism,” said Mudavadi.
Mudavadi urged Dr. Amani Komora to uphold and strengthen the high standards within the police service, just as his predecessor, Mr. Eliud Kinuthia, had done.
“You have no option as the chairperson but to make sure that the standards are kept, if not the way they are, they must be higher,” said Mudavadi.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary also urged people and leaders of Tana River County to advocate for peace and stability in their areas, citing that a peaceful environment is at the center of bringing in investors and galvanizing economic growth in the region.
“Every investor is keen to put their money and investment where they know that there is peace. It is therefore important that you maintain a harmonious life to attract development in your area,” said Mudavadi.
He also added that projects like the ones being undertaken in Galana Kulalu could only flourish if backed by a peaceful and stable environment.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary commended Dr. Amani Komora for his exemplary service and steadfast dedication to promoting national unity and institutional integrity.
Mudavadi praised Komora’s leadership, describing it as an inspiration to young people and a clear example of how dedication and discipline can drive meaningful change.
