The ODM party has unveiled plans to establish a leadership academy in honor of Raila Odinga to mark its 20th anniversary.
Party chairman Gladys Wanga announced this on Monday, September 22, 2025, during a Parliamentary Group meeting in Machakos. She explained that the academy would serve as a tribute to Raila’s legacy of mentoring young leaders.
“One of the things we will be launching during the youth event leadership is the launch of the Raila Odinga Academy in Leadership. We will launch the Raila Odinga Academy in leadership to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this party. Raila himself will lead the launch during our youth event in Mombasa,” she said.
In his continued pursuit to empower the youth, Raila called upon the youth to join ODM, stating that with their membership, the party would be in a better position to form the government of 2027.
Wanga praised Raila Odinga’s leadership role in steering ODM through its two decades.
“We thank our party leader, Baba Raila Amolo Odinga, for his visionary leadership in ODM. It is not as easy as other speakers have alluded. Baba has steered ODM to greater heights over the past 20 years. We commit as a Parliamentary Group and as a party to keep pushing forward and to remain strong,” she said.
