The Kenyan Embassy in Seoul has announced scholarship opportunities for Kenyan students studying in South Korea under the Woojung Education and Culture Foundation for the 2026 Fall Semester.
In an update dated Friday, July 3, the embassy invited eligible students already enrolled in South Korean universities to apply before Friday, July 10.
“The Embassy wishes to inform you that the Woojung Education and Culture Foundation is offering scholarships to Kenyan students enrolled in universities in the Republic of Korea for the 2026 Fall Semester,” the embassy said.
The embassy said the scholarship targets foreign students studying in South Korea who need financial support for tuition fees.
Applicants must also already be formally enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at a university in the Republic of Korea.
Students who study only language courses or who are in a research semester are not eligible.
The scholarship also applies only to students who fall within the required study period. Undergraduate students at four-year universities may apply during their first eight semesters, while master’s students may apply during their first four semesters. PhD students may apply during their first six semesters, and students enrolled in joint master’s and PhD programmes may apply during their first eight semesters.
In addition, applicants must have scored at least 80 points academically, which the embassy said is equivalent to a grade B or higher.
The embassy also noted that it may still consider students who face financial difficulties. Applicants must have completed at least one semester at a four-year university in South Korea and must be enrolled as full-time students.
Other requirements include showing good conduct and not receiving any government scholarship or any other scholarship.
Students who previously received scholarships through the Embassy’s recommendation are not eligible.
The embassy also instructed applicants to complete all application documents in Korean and submit them through the Embassy.
Applicants must submit a completed application form with one portrait photograph, and they must fill out the form in Korean. They must also provide a recommendation letter from a professor or dean, completed in Korean, along with a Certificate of Admission, an original Certificate of Enrollment, and an original academic transcript.
In addition, they must submit a one-page self-introduction written in Korean, a study plan completed in Korean, and a copy of a bank account showing the account number.
The embassy said applicants should email their applications to info@kenya-embassy.or.kr.
