Willis Raburu Enters Kisumu Senate Race with Linda Mwananchi Movement | BossNana International Radio

Media personality Willis Raburu has officially stepped into the political arena by joining the Linda Mwananchi Movement.

Siaya Governor James Orengo confirmed the news, noting that Raburu’s arrival injects a surge of youthful energy and innovative perspectives into the organization. According to Orengo, Raburu’s move signals the movement’s rising popularity among young leaders who are determined to redefine Kenya’s political landscape.

Orengo shared his enthusiasm following a personal meeting with the veteran broadcaster, stating:

“Today, I had an engaging tête-à-tête with media personality Willis Raburu. He’s officially bringing his signature youthful energy, corporate MC expertise, and creative media edge to the Linda Mwananchi Movement.”

The governor further revealed Raburu’s specific political ambitions for the upcoming elections:

“Willis is running for the Kisumu Senatorial seat, and we are thrilled he’s chosen to board our bus, a movement fueled by the aspirations of the youth and a drive for a better Kenya.”

At the same time, the Linda Mwananchi movement is steadily building its identity as a youth-driven platform focused on governance reform and inclusive leadership. The group is actively pushing for greater participation from younger generations, seeking to disrupt long-standing political structures.

This growing momentum aligns with Willis Raburu’s widely noted career transition. He left Citizen TV in June 2023 after a 13-year run that saw him rise from an intern in 2010 to one of the country’s most recognizable media figures. Over the years, he evolved from a news reporter into the energetic host of the popular show 10 over 10.

After his tenure at Citizen TV, Raburu moved to TV 47, where he hosted the Wabebe Experience before closing that chapter in 2024. He has now stepped away from broadcasting and into politics, joining the campaign trail as Linda Mwananchi intensifies its activities in the Nyanza region. The movement has lined up a series of rallies this weekend aimed at mobilizing supporters and strengthening its foothold.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna will lead the delegation across several key stops. The team will begin its grassroots outreach in Vihiga on Saturday before heading to Kisumu on Sunday, April 26, for a major rally.
