“I’ll Tell the Country Everything”: Justin Muturi Threatens to Leak Ruto’s 2022 State House Secrets | BossNana International Radio

Former Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has cautioned President William Ruto against any attempts to manipulate the 2027 presidential election, promising to reveal hidden details regarding the previous general election.

Muturi, a former attorney general, claims he possesses insider knowledge about the 2022 polls, specifically concerning the United Democratic Alliance’s path to victory.

“Remember, I had said it before: I have got information about that weekend of July 5 and 6 last year when we spent those two weekends at State House with Jose Camargo, the supplier of Smartmatic Company election technology. We cannot afford to have that system in place. If we have such, then the election will be in favor of Ruto,” said Muturi.

The former CS has joined other Opposition figures in calling for a total overhaul of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) infrastructure. He argues that the current system essentially guarantees President Ruto’s reelection.

“The IEBC left alone, without being prompted, can easily gazette institutions or places that do not exist. Remember, most of the polling places in Kenya are in schools, yet we have seen the Ministry of Education recently admit that there are ghost schools,” he said.

Muturi clarified that the opposition wants to avoid discovering non-existent polling stations after the fact. To prevent this, he is calling on the IEBC to publish and gazette all locations, allowing citizens to verify their existence in person.

“We are ensuring that there is transparency in our elections and that there are no doubts,” said Muturi.

In response to the UDA Party’s recent by-election victories, Muturi suggested possible manipulation. He criticized the IEBC for allegedly helping the president’s party manipulate results to create an illusion of widespread popularity across the country.

“As far as I am concerned, we have to change the technology that is in place. If it is not changed completely or a complete overhaul is not done, then we would have no confidence in whatever will happen,” said Muturi.

Muturi remains adamant that there is enough time for a total overhaul of the IEBC before next year’s high-stakes election. He pointed to existing illegalities within the commission, specifically challenging the extension of administrative contracts.

“Yes, all they have to do now is to terminate the current contracts. In fact, it was extended illegally. When the former CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan extended the contract, he had no authority, because that can only be done by a commission sitting in plenary,” he said.

Turning to the shifting political landscape in the Mt. Kenya region, Muturi expressed confidence that voters would remain united. He dismissed attempts by the president’s allies to create a rift between “East” and “West” factions of the mountain for political leverage.

“The people and communities around the mountain have had a long history of being together, and so it is not possible to divide them along political lines. It is just the voices of a few politicians like Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki,” said Muturi.

The former CS concluded with a stark assessment of the administration’s popularity, claiming the president has lost his footing across the country. He warned the head of state against any further political confrontations.

I hope Ruto will not want to challenge me because I will tell the country much more that I know about how he became president. He should never challenge me; let him just have his one term and go home.”
