The State has successfully integrated 22,510 government services from 583 agencies onto the e-Citizen platform, marking a significant milestone in digital governance. The update came from the Governance and Public Administration Sub-Committee, chaired by Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo.
The committee also reviewed the implementation of 19 Cabinet decisions, noting that 11 were completed in the third and last quarters of 2025. However, some actions faced delays due to coordination gaps, funding bottlenecks, and ongoing legal processes.
“Briefing by the Solicitor General revealed a rise in petitions challenging government legislation. Since 2022, 60 percent of these cases have been filed, the majority linked to public participation,” the statement reads.
Public Service Milestones: Police Recruitment and Leadership Training
The Sub-Committee highlighted recent achievements in public service, including the recruitment of 10,000 police officers and the training of 6,000 chiefs and assistant chiefs, describing these as important steps toward strengthening governance and security.
On the international front, Kenya achieved a major diplomatic milestone with the formal admission of Somalia as the 8th member of the East African Community (EAC). The move is expected to expand regional trade opportunities and market access, benefiting Kenyan businesses and consumers.
Call for Timely Funding and Coordinated Project Execution
The Sub-Committee stressed the need for timely exchequer releases and stronger coordination, especially for projects tied to AFCON preparations. Updates also highlighted progress on key infrastructure initiatives, such as the East African Kidney Institute and Kenya Defense Forces-led school projects in Elgeyo Marakwet.
“Updates also showed major projects nearing completion including the East African Kidney Institute alongside Kenya Defense Forces led projects among some schools in Elgeyo Marakwet,” the statement reads.
