Dida Returns: Ex-Kenyan Presidential Candidate Launches Global Spiritual Initiative | BossNana International Radio

Former Kenyan presidential candidate Mohammed Abduba Dida has reemerged with a renewed sense of purpose months after his release from a United States prison.

The 50-year-old, now residing in Minnesota, is leveraging social media to launch a global spiritual initiative and revive a charitable organization he founded in 2017. On Sunday, November 23, 2025, Dida shared a video introducing his latest venture, the Dida Global Network (DGN), which has already begun circulating widely online.

“This is your brother, your elder, your leader, presidential aspirant Mohamed Dida, hereby welcoming you to Dida Global Network, DGN,” he said. “Humanity today is divided, divided based on many, many factors, whether it is race, whether it is biological difference, genetical difference, geographical difference, economic difference, there are many, many things, spiritual difference, humanity is divided. But the fact, the bottom fact, the naked truth is we are one nation.”

He added, “We are one nation and one God. We are all the children of one man created of dust and one woman created of the man’s rib. Under any circumstance, we have to be united.”

Dida further invited the public to join his initiative. “Dida Global Initiative welcomes you to join this movement so that we can unite, one family and one God, one nation and one God. Join me in this effort, join me in this endeavor, join me so that we can realise the purpose of the human being in this short life. Thank you very much. Welcome, stay tuned.”

The former politician aims to expand his platform beyond Kenya, urging people to look past political, tribal, and social divides. His vision focuses on spiritual outreach, community building, and fostering unity among humanity.

Dida’s transition to philanthropy and spiritual work comes after he served part of a seven-year sentence at the Big Muddy Correctional Centre in Illinois. Convicted in July 2021 of stalking, transmitting threats, aggravated stalking, and violating a restraining order obtained by his American wife, court records show he visited a prayer center near her home without realizing it violated U.S. law. He was paroled in April 2025.

During his political career, Dida, born in Wajir, was known for his straightforward and humorous style, contesting Kenya’s presidency in 2013 and 2017 under the Alliance for Real Change party. Though he earned limited votes, his approach won him a following.

Since relocating to the U.S. in 2019, Dida has faced personal and legal challenges, including a controversial marriage. Now, he is fully committed to philanthropy, seeking office space in Minnesota to relaunch the Dida Foundation International, which supports underprivileged communities. Family members say he is determined to rebuild his life and contribute positively to society.
