High Court Stops Kung’u Muigai From Linking Judge Lenaola to Corruption Allegations | BossNana International Radio

The High Court has barred Captain, Rtd, Kung’u Muigai from making or publishing any further defamatory remarks against Supreme Court Judge Isaac Lenaola.

Justice Nixon Sifuna ordered that the application be served within two days, with a response expected within five days of service. He also directed that the applicant may file a supplementary affidavit, if necessary, within three days of receiving the response. The case will then proceed through written submissions, with a mention scheduled for October 13, 2025, for further directions.

In the meantime, the court issued an interim injunction prohibiting Muigai, or anyone acting under his instructions, from publishing through any media or platform statements considered defamatory against Justice Lenaola.

The orders followed a certificate of urgency filed by Justice Lenaola through his lawyers, Ngeri, Omiti & Bush Advocates LLP, accusing Muigai of spreading false, scandalous, and malicious allegations.

Court documents reveal that Muigai allegedly gave video interviews on September 8 and September 12, 2025, which later circulated widely on social media platforms. Justice Lenaola accuses him of linking senior judges to corruption and even insinuating their involvement in the death of lawyer Kyalo Mbobu.

“Despite a demand notice requiring him to retract the statements, Muigai continued with fresh interviews, repeating the allegations and daring Justice Lenaola to sue him,” the court papers read.

The judge maintains that Muigai’s continued attacks not only damage his personal reputation but also undermine the integrity of the Judiciary, which depends heavily on public trust.
