FULL LIST – Quiver Lounges, Bar Next Door Among 107 Clubs Facing Closure Over Noise Pollution | BossNana International Radio

The National Environment Management Authority (Nema) has named 107 bars and clubs across the country that could face closure for noise pollution.

In a notice issued yesterday, the authority explained that it has been flooded with complaints from the public about loud music coming from clubs, lounges, bars, and restaurants. The crackdown, it said, aims to curb rising noise pollution from entertainment joints.

Failure to Comply With Orders

Nema explained that most of the affected facilities had already been served with Environmental Restoration Orders, which required them to provide environmental compliance documents. However, the majority failed to comply.

“Nema has been receiving noise pollution complaints regarding clubs, lounges, bars, and restaurants across the country. Several facilities have been issued Environmental Restoration Orders requiring them to provide environmental compliance documents, but the majority have failed to comply,” the notice read.

Strict Directives Issued

The authority has now ordered the listed establishments to submit the required documents within seven days. These include:

• Certificate of incorporation and list of directors

• Environmental Impact Assessment license

• Current Environmental Audit report

• Proof of noise control measures

• Written explanation on why they should not face legal action or closure

Nema warned that any business that fails to comply risks prosecution, closure, and other legal consequences.
