Mudavadi’s Message to Doubters of Raila-Ruto Alliance | BossNana International Radio

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has delivered a message to the remaining doubters of the Raila Odinga and President William Ruto’s coalition.

While speaking to the people of Funyula Constituency in Busia County on Monday, August 11, 2025, Mudavadi said that Raila’s action to join hands with Ruto communicates a powerful message of Kenya Kwanza having an even stronger grip on power. “I want to tell those who are still doubting. Do not doubt any more. Raila has united with Ruto. And we are also there, me and others. Going ahead, the road is all set. So let us not doubt,” he declared.

He also used the occasion to outline several development projects earmarked for the region, urging residents to position themselves to benefit from government initiatives. Mudavadi noted that although Busia overwhelmingly supported ODM in the last elections, the party’s new cooperation with Ruto’s UDA under Kenya Kwanza presents fresh opportunities for the county.

“Here in Busia, ODM is the most dominant outfit, and now ODM is working with the government under Ruto’s UDA in Kenya Kwanza. We are united so that we can deliver for the people of Kenya. We came here asking for votes, but you floored us. However, we want all people here to benefit from this government,” he affirmed.

His remarks came just a day after National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula urged a section of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders to rally behind their party leader in showing support for President Ruto.

Referencing Raila’s public endorsement of the Kenya Kwanza government during his address at Pheobe Asiyo’s burial, Wetang’ula called on those still undecided about the president to take a bold and definitive stand in his favor.

“Echoing ODM leader Raila Odinga’s pledge to back President William Ruto beyond 2027, I urged undecided ODM leaders to rally behind his second-term bid,” he stated.

In a recent show of support for his broad-based pact with President Ruto, Raila strongly urged those pushing for Ruto to serve only one term to give the government enough room to deliver on its mandate and reserve judgment until the 2027 General Election.

“I wish to urge the broad-based government’s detractors to grant us the room we require and to reserve their verdicts for 2027. We have made it clear that this broad-based government will remain in place until the 2027 elections, after which we shall chart the path forward,” Raila declared
